the only lake palace in the entire east india ,Neer Mahal is located about 53 km from agartala.it was constructed as a summer resort in 1930 by Maharaja Bibikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur
The state has one of most beautiful palaces to visit, where one can steal from memory and make it your own, even if only for a day King Ludwig II built a palace of beauty par excellence in the middle of lake Chemisee in the Bavarian country. Of the many rooms that he managed to finish, most of them are lavishly decorated and planned with zestful verve. Closer home, Udaipur has a palace in the centre of a lake.
A bus or jeep will take you from Agartala to a place called Malaga (or Melaga). From there it is but a walk of 1 km up to the lakeside or travel in an auto. Surely yet another place to check out when visiting Tripura.
